Antique German Doll Sale- Very Rare

The Antique China Head Dolls are fourth generation in her family and originally were made for

her maternal great-grandmother when she was a young girl. They have been well-cared for

and stored for the past 50 plus years. The set includes 8 dolls: Bride, Groom, Bridesmaid of Honor,

Bridesmaids (3), Mother-of-the-Bride, and Flower Girl. (3 of the dolls are considered very SCARCE)

The Porcelain China heads are late 19th Century (Circa 1890's). The boy (groom) and the two

blond haired dolls are EXTREMELY RARE as compared to the black haired China dolls. The bride

is blond-haired and wears a lovely off-white (satin or silk) dress with a train; exquisite lace front

with costume jewels; holds a bouquet of tiny colorful flowers. She wears a lace head piece and veil

with a beautiful flower-designed longer lace train that is in very good condition.

The heads, arms, and legs were probably ordered and the costumes and bodies are hand-made

for a little girl at the time (Linda's great-grandmother). All dolls are 6 1/4 inches tall. The costumes are

period to the dolls and very ELABORATE. The dresses feature silk, lace, satin, wool, and extremely

intricate trim made of small flowers, beads, and several dolls have bead necklaces. All of the dresses

of the dolls are unique and in very good condition.

Note: The groom doll head (black hear shows a small spot of white) and the mother-of-the-bride in the

black and white outfit shows some wear on the right side of her black hair (white marks). The doll in the

short light-purple dress has a very small nick on one shoe. The maid-of-honor wearing the peach-colored

dress with the train has three small stains on the train that are not noticeable from the front view. Damage
to the black dress is depicted in the photo - sadly the smocking has come undone. Feel free to ask for additional
